Further Information on how to order your Prescription

 

  1. Via Online Patient Services

-You can also book GP appointments through this system

  • Complete the registration form HERE (it may download at the bottom left of your screen) save the document to your desktop then attach it to an email and submit it to clinical.S70131@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk or hand it in to the surgery
  • Each applicant from a family will need their own personal email address. (because it gives access to a medical record shared email addresses are not acceptable).  Children under 16 cannot use this system. 
  • A link key will be sent to your email address to allow you to set a password and access the system. You can manage and recall your password online.
  • Once registered, you will be able to book from a selection of face to face routine 10 minute GP appointments online.  (Unfortunately not nurse appointments as these require additional information at the time of booking).  You will be able to see all your appointments (not just those booked online).  Only single GP appointments can be booked - if you need a double appointment please phone the surgery to book your appointment.
  • Once registered, you can view and reorder all your current repeat medications (the medicines that you order regularly that are shown on your repeat prescription reorder form). It will not show your acute medications (items that the doctor authorises for a short period or for single occasions) but you can request these via this new system.  You can also view the status of any requests you have made.

VIA YOUR PHARMACIST (Preferred option for under 16s)Colinton PharmacyCraiglockhart PharmacyDears Pharmacy (Oxgangs);  Lindsey & Gilmour (Juniper Green)Lloyds(Westerhailes, Sighthill & Currie); Lorimer Pharmacy (Morningside); Polwarth Pharmacy and Colinton Mains Pharmacy (Tods) all accept repeat prescriptions and forward them to us. If you wish to have your completed prescriptions sent to any of these pharmacies for collection please inform us and we will amend your medical record to ensure that this occurs for all your prescriptions.  All of the above pharmacies have arrangements for the daily collection of scripts from the surgery, except Lorimer, Polwarth which collect twice a week.
  2.   IN PERSON Please put your request in the "Prescriptions Request Box" within the pram bay during surgery open hours
  3.   BY POST (- if you want your prescription posted back to you, please ensure that you enclose a Stamped Addressed envelope.  Otherwise we will just inform you to come and collect it.

Most Pharmacies have a Free Prescription Collection & Delivery Service. If you are unable to collect your Prescription from the Pharmacy you may be entitled to this Service.  Contact your preferred Pharmacy for more information.
