The district nurses provide nursing treatments and advice to the housebound and patients recently discharged from hospital (over 16). Their working hours are 08.00 - 16.30 but the best time to contact them in the surgery is Monday to Friday 14.00 - 14.30. If they are out of the office a message can be left on their answering machine and they will get back to you.

The Health Visitors visit all families with children under 5 years old. They provide information, advice and support to parents of pre-school children, particularly at times of physical or emotional stress. The Health Visiting team are available Monday to Friday 9 til 5. However, if they are out of the office a message can be left on their answering machine. The Health Visiting team are based at Allermuir Medical Centre (opposite Tesco at Colinton Mains).
